Privacy policy

RxCram is a free study site for the pharmacy technician exam. You do not need an account, and the site has no sign-up, forms, ads or cookies. This page explains the little data that is involved in using it.
Who runs RxCram
The site is operated by RxCram, based in the United States of America, which is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at contact@rxcram.com.
RxCram is intended for people in the United States preparing for US pharmacy technician certification. It is not directed at people in the European Union, the United Kingdom or other countries outside the US. The sections below on the GDPR are provided for transparency, for anyone who visits from elsewhere.
What stays on your device
Your quiz progress, starred and missed items, and settings (such as theme, voice and whether added drugs are shown) are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and are not sent to us. You can erase them at any time with Settings → Reset progress, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. Export backup saves a file to your device only.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It records the page address, the referring site, your approximate country, and your browser, operating system and device type. It does not use cookies, and it does not identify you across sites or across days: visitors are counted with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours. We cannot see who you are from it.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel receives your IP address and basic request details when your browser loads a page, and may keep them briefly in logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Fonts and all other files are served from this site, so no other third party receives your IP address when you visit.
Legal basis
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): delivering the site securely, and understanding in aggregate how it is used so we can improve it. The data involved is minimal and cannot be used to identify you, so we consider that these interests are not outweighed by your rights. Data saved on your own device is stored because you use the features that need it.
Transfers outside the EU and UK
Vercel Inc. is based in the United States, so data processed by Vercel may be transferred there. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, and uses standard contractual clauses where further safeguards are needed.
How long data is kept
We do not keep server logs ourselves. The analytics visitor hash is discarded after 24 hours, and what remains are aggregate counts that do not relate to any person. Vercel keeps request logs only for a short period (hours to days) and otherwise retains data under its own privacy policy. Data on your device stays until you erase it.
Read-aloud
The read-aloud feature uses your browser's built-in speech engine. Some browsers use online voices, which send the text being read (drug names and quiz questions, never anything about you) to the browser maker's speech service. Choose a voice marked as local in your system settings if you prefer to avoid this.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- We do not build profiles of visitors or track you on other sites.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The site is meant for adults preparing for a professional exam.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its use, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Because RxCram does not collect names, emails or accounts, we generally hold no data that can be linked to you, but you can write to us with any request or question and we will answer it.
If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
